Every Scout Deserves a Trained Leader
If you had a magic wand, would you use it to make the Scouting program better and more fun for youth so they stayed in Scouting longer, so it had a larger impact on their lives? What if the same magic wand made leadership roles easier, more rewarding, and led to better retention among adult leaders?
Well, such a magic wand does exist—in the form of the learning programs for leaders in the Boy Scouts of America.
A trained leader is knowledgeable and more confident in the role being performed.
Trained leaders exhibit a knowledge and confidence that is picked up by people around them.
Trained leaders impact the quality of programs, leader tenure, youth tenure, safety, and a whole lot more.
A trained leader is better prepared to make the Scouting program all it can be!

Do you have 2 hours to make your life easier? Want to deliver the promise of scouting to those in your care? Become a trained leader.
If you don't have a my.scouting.org account, you'll need to create one. If you have one, make sure that your member number (I can get it for you if you don't have it) and the council number (564) are in your profile. If they don't have your member number and council number, your unit won't get credit for your hard work. (If you are already trained and did it direct contact, send me photos/scans of your cards and I'll get it recorded. If you did it under another member number, update your profile by going to menu - legacy web tools - manage member id and change your member number to your current registration - don't forget to make Capitol Area Council your registration location.) Then look at the position training requirements and take the sections that are required
for your position.Having trouble? Have questions? Don't hesitate to ask.
Thank you for your service in developing the youth in the Hill Country.
